SUNRISE, Fla.--Feb. 27, 2006--Learn.com said it is launching a $50 million software grant program in continued support of the National Education Technology Plan, announced in January 2005 by the U.S. Department of Education. The 2006 grant follows the company’s donation of $40 million in software and services to U.S. academic institutions last year.

The grant will assist American educational institutions with their efforts to “bring e-learning to their campuses while extending their reach using the World Wide Web.” Eligible institutions include: K-12, colleges, universities, and vocational schools.

Grant recipients will receive individual user licenses to the Learn.com CourseMaker Studio 3.7 course authoring tool.

Over 90 days, Learn.com said it will donate 12,515 licenses with retail value of $3,995 each.
