SkillSoft Introduces SkillView

NASHUA, N.H.--March 14, 2006--SkillSoft PLC said it plans to introduce SkillView, a suite of products that will link learning programs to larger human capital goals through a competency management application.

SkillView, expected to be available in May, will help businesses “identify their employees' strengths and weaknesses, and then align their learning plans to most effectively address their individual needs,” the company said.

SkillSoft will release two versions of the SkillView product--SkillView and SkillView XL--to meet varying competency management needs. SkillView suits customers that would benefit from a turnkey solution, the company said. In addition to technology, SkillView includes a database of skill descriptions, job profiles and mappings to associated SkillSoft learning content, known as the SkillView Competency Model. Customers using SkillView can augment the model with their organization-specific jobs and skills.

SkillView XL adds extensions to the core capabilities for customers that desire control over all data elements and access to extended functions. The XL version adds 360-degree employee assessment, recruiting elements and skill weighting capabilities that add the dimension of importance to skills in a profile.
