Adobe Announces Education Leader Program
SAN JOSE, Calif.—March 28, 2006—Adobe Systems Inc., has announced the Education Leader program to “cultivate education technology innovations” by providing educators with such resources as education software, free curriculum, training, and a forum to share best practices, according to an Adobe announcement.
Educators are invited to participate in the program based on their “exemplary use” of Adobe solutions in the classroom, the company said. The program includes classroom teachers; technology coordinators; IT directors; and school, district and state administrators.
More than 100 educators are participating, said Adobe. The program combines the the company’s Master Teacher and former Macromedia Education Leader programs. Educators from 32 states, Canada and the United Kingdom were selected to act as advocates, mentors, and trainers. These educators will develop standards-based curricula and educational resources in the areas of 21st century digital communication skills, e-learning, professional development and administrative computing.
In addition to having access to select education software, free curriculum, and training resources, Adobe Education Leaders can participate in software beta programs abd focus groups, the company said. Educators are invited to join based on criteria including areas of educational expertise, knowledge of Adobe solutions, professional experience, and industry recognition. Creativity and innovation in the teaching and learning experience and geographic location are also evaluated.
