Oracle Validates BackWeb Integration
SAN JOSE, Calif.--March 28, 2006--BackWeb Technologies Ltd., a provider of software for mobilizing enterprise web applications, said Oracle has validated the integration between the BackWeb Offline Access Server and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management application.
According to an announcement, this integration makes it possible for ELM users to access their personal learning workflow and course training content even while disconnected from the network. The results and reporting of these offline training activities are synchronized to the ELM application whenever the user reconnects to the network.
This is the second Oracle application for which BackWeb, a certified Oracle partner, provides a mobile offline solution. The first was the Oracle e-Performance Management application, announced in April 2005.
The BackWeb Offline Access Server (OAS) provides access to existing enterprise web applications, portals, and content for those connected to the network. When offline, users work normally in their browsers and new or changed data is synchronized between their laptops and the online application.
PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management is a stand-alone, Internet-based solution that is part of PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management (HCM) software suite.
