Hyperion Completes Acquisition of UpStream Software

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—May 8, 2006—Hyperion has completed its previously announced acquisition of privately held UpStream Software, a provider of data readiness and guided workflow solutions for tracking financial information.

According to a Hyperion announcement, the acquisition extends its business process management (BPM) and business intelligence offerings, enabling users to generate trustworthy financial data, improve the visibility of financial data management processes, save time in critical financial processes, and lower compliance costs.

“The lack of confidence in financial data is a problem that can paralyze an enterprise,” said Godfrey Sullivan, president and chief executive at Hyperion. “The addition of UpStream’s technology to our BPM portfolio is providing customers with a robust financial data quality solution to reduce business risk.”
