Online Program Helps Candidates Prepare for CMA Exam
RESTON, Va.—May 18, 2006—VCampus
Corp. announced it has been selected by the Institute of Management
Accountants (IMA) to create a learning portal intended to provide professional
education resources to the IMA community.
VCampus and the IMA will also begin development
of an interactive, Web-based certification prep program intended to
better equip professionals preparing for the IMA’s Certified
Management Accountant (CMA) exam. The CMA designation is reportedly
held by nearly 20,000 professionals and provides an objective measure
of knowledge in the field of management accounting. The CMA exam covers
such topics as economics, business finance, cost management, performance
management, financial reporting, decision analysis, and strategic planning
with a strong emphasis on ethics. The online program being created
will reportedly help candidates prepare for the exam by providing review
sessions, interactive exercises, case studies, and opportunities for
mentoring feedback as well as peer-to-peer discussion.
“We are continually looking for ways to provide professional development
experiences that enhance the profession of management accounting. One
of the most exciting elements of this new program is the opportunity
for community discussion—peer-to-peer learning is one of the most
valuable things we can offer our membership,” said Paul Sharman,
IMA president and chief executive.
