ViewSonic Goes Cordless with Wireless Presentation Solutions
ORLANDO, Fla.—June 7, 2006—ViewSonic
Corp. has announced the WPG-100 Wireless G Presentation Adapter and
PJ658 LCD projector, a pair of offerings that reportedly enable multiple
computers, located anywhere in a room, to wirelessly stream digital
and audio content, without swapping cables during presentations.
According to the announcement, the WPG-100 adapter features built-in
802.11b/g, DVI, VGA, and LAN connectors, which enable users to connect
a laptop to the adapter to project data wirelessly from 250 feet. In
addition, the adapter reportedly can connect to any display with a DVI
or VGA connector. The adapter is scheduled to begin shipping in August.
The PJ658 projector, meanwhile, reportedly features an easy-to-reach
lamp when mounted and an auto vertical keystone to project a square image.
It also includes a lock to prevent unauthorized use and a security bar
for theft deterrence. Additional features include MyScreen functionality,
intended to allow users to display a photo or company logo upon startup,
and a whiteboard mode that reduces glare when images are projected on
whiteboards. Featuring 2,500 lumens, the projector is intended for use
in environments ranging from brightly lit classrooms to shaded boardrooms,
and offers a 500:1 contrast ratio, XGA 1024x768 native resolution, Whisper
Mode, and HDTV signal support. Availability is scheduled for July.
