Sierra Pacific Aviation Using Latest in FAA Training Standards

LAS VEGAS—June 19, 2006—The board of directors at SkyBridge Technology Group Inc. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sierra Pacific Aviation Inc., has begun training utilizing the FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS).

“Few people within the industry are aware of the FITS program, and fewer are implementing the program, even though these methods have been proven in airline and academic training,” said Brent Neville, Sierra Pacific president, in a company announcement.

According to the announcement, FITS was intended to exceed the old “stick and rudder” method of training. Developed as a partnership between the FAA and leading aviation universities and training course developers, the FITS program reportedly utilizes simulation- and scenario-based training methods that engage student pilots with the key aeronautical decision-making skills needed to be safe and confident pilots.
