Electronics Supplier Uses Web to Educate Engineers about Its Products

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn.—June 20, 2006—Digi-Key Corp. has announced that it has added to its U.S. Web site a product training module program intended to offer design engineers 24/7 access to seminars and other information regarding its electronics products.

According to the announcement, the Web-based learning tools were developed and produced by Digi-Key, with the cooperation of several of its supplier partners, including Altera, Analog Devices, Fairchild Semiconductor, Freescale Semiconductor, Micrel, Philips, Silicon Laboratories, and STMicroelectronics. Currently, 10 training modules are available, providing customers with information on the company’s products and technologies, technical support contact information, downloadable datasheets, and the ability to check inventory and place product orders.

Reportedly varying in length from 15 to 35 minutes, the audio and nonaudio versions of the modules require Macromedia Flash 6 or newer and are also available as MP3 downloads.
