U.S. Army Command in Korea Receives Delivery of Training System

SAN DIEGO—July 26, 2006—The defense segment of Cubic Corp. announced it has delivered the U.S. Army’s first Initial-Homestation Instrumentation Training System (I-HITS) to the Eighth U.S. Army at Camp Casey, Korea.

According to the announcement, I-HITS is intended to provide such training capabilities as battle tracking, data collection, and after-action reviews, without the need for a fixed infrastructure. The self-contained package reportedly can be deployed to support force-on-force, force-on-target, joint, and combined arms training.

The announcement stated that the I-HITS configuration delivered to Camp Casey supports force-on-force engagement training for the U.S. Army’s mechanized/armor infantry company. The announcement added that the Camp Casey instrumentation supports training for dismounted infantry, vehicles, and observer/controllers; is expandable to integrate with more than 2,000 live players and 8,000 virtual and constructive entities; and provides training for urban operations.

The next customers to receive I-HITS reportedly include Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (fall 2006), and Slovakia (fall 2007).
